Welcome to the Ribbon Master Challenge! So glad you've decided to do your research! This'll be a quick primer on the topic, so stay with me!

The Ribbon Master Challenge is a gauntlet through many different Pokémon games of your choosing with your end goal being to grab as many Ribbons for your chosen Pokémon as possible. Ribbons being the achievements that are displayed on a Pokémon's status screen whenever you complete certain tasks like winning battles in the battle frontier, becoming a contest star, or even for becoming best buddies with your Pokémon!

You can start in ANY Generation, beginning with Generation 3. As long as the Pokémon can be moved into the modern, current generation of games, you can earn yourself a genuine Ribbon Master.

The basic rules are simple. For Ribbon Mastery, you MUST earn every single available ribbon in the regions you are able to take your Pokémon to. This means, if you started in Generation 3, every ribbon in Generation 3 that is available for your Pokémon must be obtained before moving onto Generation 4.

An example of a ribbon that might not be obtainable for your respective Pokémon might be something like in Pokémon XD/Colosseum, where only Shadow Pokémon can get the National Ribbon, obtained for purifying a shadow Pokémon. Ribbons like these can be skipped if your Pokémon cannot obtain them at all by legal means.

If a Pokémon is not available in the generation, it may be skipped. (Ex. Plusle is NOT in Sword/Shield, so the game may be skipped.)

If you can make it to the modern games with your pal, and proof of every single Ribbon being obtained on that Pokémon, make a submission to the Ribbon Master "Hall of Fame"! I recommend taking screenshots or pictures of each final status screen with all of your ribbons from that generation before transferring them up to the next generation. It makes for great collage pictures at the end!

(If you're just here to have some fun, and not collect everything, consider making a Ribbon Collector. I've decided to make the distinction so that anyone can join in on the fun! If you don't want to do battle facilities, don't do 'em! Not enough time in the world to do Contests over and over until you win? Don't! Make a Ribbon Collector instead of a Master!)
